Energy efficient heating Part 4: Optimum start, delayed start, optimum stop
Posted on March 30, 2010 by admin in Energy Efficient Heating
Most heating systems waste energy by switching the boiler on and off at the same time each morning and evening. This video explains how the latest controllers allow you to set the time when the desired comfort temperature should be reached, not the boiler start time. The controller saves fuel by sensing the prevailing temperature and automatically delays boiler firing until the latest time that will achieve the set temperature by the required time. Similarly, a controller can sense whether it can turn the heating off earlier than the set off time, without you noticing a drop in temperature.
